Fall Porch: A Roadside Rescue

Fall has finally fully landed at this house.

As I've mentioned before, the free section of Craigslist is one of the more exciting spots for me to regularly scour.  It's amazing what you can find, for free, that you never knew you needed!

Check this guy out...a little before shot:

I wasn't sure what to do with it.  But it looked promising.

So after a little priming, a coat of white paint for the exterior and some chalkboard paint where a mirror formerly existed, I stumbled upon the centerpiece for my new fall porch.

I think my eventual plan will be to hang it as our seasonal welcome board on the house, but I need a man for that job.  And he's not usually around during nap time. :)

I just love it!  Not too shabby for free-99!

Accompanied with my new fall wreath I whipped up the other day.

It officially feels like spiced cider and sweaters are welcome in this home.

    1. Haha - I know. The before is terrible. I brought it home and Blake about busted a gut laughing at me. It's amazing what a simple coat of white paint can do to something! Thanks Hil!

  8. And I'm stopping by again to tell you how much I love your porch! The hay and the before/after is my favorite. The chalk paint looks perfect on it, can't wait to see what you do with it when fall is over :)

About Me

My Photo
I married my best friend in 2006, and we started a family in 2010. Our house is still a work in progress in becoming a home - who knew there would be so many projects with new construction?! I love flavored coffee creamers, reality TV and anything Husky sports-related. My confession is that I only make boxed cookies, don't do grocery delivery (they don't have samples!), and am slightly obsessed with being a mom to boys.
